What To Do When You Get Too High

If you smoked a little bit too much weed with way too much THC for you, or you ingested too many edibles for your own good, you might have gotten way too high. Your heart might be racing, you could be sweating, feeling dizzy and anxious, and even nauseous too. Thankfully, there are many things that you can do when you get too high. What you can do when you get too high is what we are here to help you with today.

Tips on What to Do When You Get Too High

Let's now go over a list of tips on the best things that you can do when you get too high. Any and all of the tips listed below are effective at bringing you down from your high, and even better is if you combine multiple tips together.

Try to Remain Calm

Although it might seem impossible to stay calm when you are feeling too high and anxious, especially when you have anxiety and your heart is racing, you absolutely need to try to stay calm. Keep reminding yourself to stay calm, lie down, and take very slow and deep breaths.

Always remember the simple fact that nobody has ever died from a THC overdose. The effect is going to wear off, and it's not going to take all that long either. Just do some deep breathing, tell yourself it's going to be OK, and carry on with your day.

Try Going for a Walk

Something else you can try doing if you can't manage to stay calm and doors with your own thoughts is to go for a little walk. If you aren't feeling sick or nauseous, that physical activity and fresh air do you a whole lot is good.

First of all, the fresh air is going to help clear your head a little bit, that physical activity is going to take your mind off of things too. Just try not to go too far, because if you end up feeling anxious when you are too far from home, it may make things even worse.

Drink and Eat

If you are feeling too high, and you can't shake that feeling, something you should try doing is hydrating yourself. A big part of feeling too high is that cotton mouth or dry mouth feeling, so hydrating yourself is a good idea either way. However, the simple act of filling up a glass of water and constantly drinking from it will help keep your mind off of things.

Moreover, something like a healthy snack can help bring you back to reality, so try eating some nuts or fresh fruit. The mental distraction you get from eating something is often more than enough to take your mind off of being too high. Just try to avoid caffeinated beverages, as they tend to make you more anxious than anything else.

Keep Busy

If you are finding that going for a walk, just trying to stay calm, or focusing on drinking and glass of water is not enough to keep you distracted, you should try to find other ways to keep you distracted. Try to do some coloring or artwork, listen to your favorite music, or watch some TV shows.

The point here is that you want to do something that will take your focus away from being too high until you feel comfortable enough to be with your own thoughts again. Of course, distracting yourself can take many different forms, so you should do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable.

Try Taking a Bath

Something that is proven to provide relief from anxiety and stress, which does include getting too high, is submerging yourself in warm or even hot water. There is just something about that warm or hot temperature that is really soothing for both the body and the mind.

Now, if for whatever reason you feel too high and dizzy to take a hot shower into standard for a prolonged period of time, you can also try to squash in some cold water on your face to try to decrease your heart rate and calm down your mind.

Chew on Some Pepper

Something very interesting to note about black pepper is that it contains a special type of terpene. This terpene it contains is proven scientifically to help reduce or even alleviate the effects of THC, which is going to come in very handy if you got too high.

This terpene contained in black pepper has the ability to block the receptors that process your THC, therefore preventing the THC molecules from binding. Not only will this help stop you from getting even higher, but it might even bring your high down a little bit.

Try Taking Some CBD

Yet another thing that you can try doing if you get too high is to take a bit of CBD, either by smoking or ingesting. CBD works by blocking the CB1 receptors in your brain, which helps to prevent the THC molecules from binding. In turn, this will stop you from getting even higher and can also decrease your current high. Simple reality is that CBD tends to be counteractive to THC, which will come in handy if you get way too high.

Try Some Lemon

Although lemon may not be quite as effective as CBD or black peppercorns at relieving anxiety caused by being too high, the terpene found in lemons does have the ability to slightly reduce anxiety. If you're feeling way too anxious, try squeezing a lemon and then inhaling right above it.

Got to Sleep If All Else Fails

If all else fails, you can't stay calm, and you also don't want to go outside or take a shower, the other option that you have is to just go to sleep. Get under a warm blanket, close your eyes, breathe heavily, and just try to fall asleep. By the time you wake up, your high should be over.

Final Thoughts on What to Do When You Get Too High

At the end of the day, if you've gotten too high, the most important thing that you need to do is to remember how much THC you inhaled or ingested in the first place. You need to figure out what your own limit is so you don't get too high the next time.
