Mecca is one of the unincorporated community that is located in the Riverside County. The desert community of Mecca lies exactly in the North Shore of the Salton Sea and in the eastern Coachella Valley. It is surrounded by vast agricultural lands and is mainly focused on extensive rural development. Mecca has an estimated population of 8500 as per the 2019 census. This small town has been the featured location in Roger Corman’s 1966 Hollywood film “The Wild Angels”. Mecca is a very small and confined area which attracts some tourists around the year who come here for adventure.
