Solvang is located in southern California’s Ynez Valley. This place was founded in 1900 and occupied almost 9,000 acres of the Rancho San Carlos de Jonata Mexican land grant. Historically, the place was inhabited by the Chumash (Native Americans residing in central and southern coastal regions of California).
